Danielle Spencer makes rare public appearance with new partner Adam Long
Russell Crowe’s ex-wife Danielle Spencer made a rare public appearance this week, stunning in a chic black dress with partner Adam Long on her arm at the opening night of Jagged Little Pill in Sydney.
Spencer, 52, and Long, 55, were all smiles on the red carpet for their date night, with the former singer and actress rocking a belted black dress with zip detailing and heels.
The mother-of-two was last photographed attending the Jack And The Beanstalk musical in 2019, with this week’s event marking her first public appearance since the pandemic began.
Spencer and Long have been linked since early 2016, with the former Dancing with the Stars runner-up telling Stellar in 2020: “We have a lot in common and we understand each other. It’s a very easy relationship and we get along very well.”
Before meeting Long, Spencer was married to Russell Crowe for fifteen years. The pair met in 1989 while starring together in The Crossing, prompting an on-again, off-again relationship as Crowe climbed the Hollywood ladder.
They went on to marry in April 2003 at Crowe’s farm in Nana Glen, separating in 2012 and finalising their divorce six years later in 2018.
Spencer’s marriage to the New Zealand-born star made headlines several times over the years, including for an infamous incident when Crowe ripped a hotel phone off a wall and threw it at an employee.
The pair share two sons, Charles, 17, and Tennyson, 15.
Despite Crowe’s estimated wealth of $90 million at the time, Spencer got a settlement of just $18 million and the couple’s Sydney house, thanks to a pre-nuptial agreement.
But the pair remain friends and even take the occasional family holiday together.
Crowe told news.com.au during an interview in 2015 – three years after their split – that Spencer was “a great mum”. He added that his work travel demands was a contributing factor to their separation.

“We came out of that relationship after a few years with no animosity – it was just circumstance,” Spencer has previously echoed to the Daily Mail.
“Russell was very ambitious and very set on moving to Hollywood, but I was younger and working on music as well as acting in Sydney, so I wasn’t ready to take the plunge.
“We were both too young to settle but we always stayed in touch – and a strong friendship is a great basis for a relationship.’
