Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Slams Donald Trump After Taking Time Off In Puerto Rico With Her Abuela

After a brief pause, New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is back on social media and has been on a roll attacking President Donald Trump yet again.

She was just in time to catch Trump boasting about having fixed the Department of Veteran Affairs through the efforts of his administration.

The post specifically referenced previous comments made by Ocasio-Cortez.

AOC fired back at Trump, claiming that the right way to fix the current veteran situation is to improve the quality of services they receive and to provide more funding for the corresponding organizations.

She wrote: “Just got back from a few (mostly) unplugged days visiting my abuela in PR, and I see the President is tweeting about me. Just another day at the office! I rep one of the strongest concentrations of veterans in NYC. The Bronx VA provides excellent care and community for our vets, who sing its praises. The way to improve VA care & reduce wait times (which can be shorter than priv care!) is by fully funding it – not privatizing it.”

The current methodology — which has mostly relied on privatization, according to Ocasio-Cortez — has not been as effective as other alternatives.

Admittedly, Trump has received some praise for certain actions he has taken in the direction of veteran care.

The president has been commended by some on the political scene not too long ago, although he does seem to be exaggerating the level of his own contributions.

Ocasio-Cortez has been particularly vocal in her disapproval of the president and his policies in this regard.

The liberal politician has also expressed her concern for the current situation of veterans and has claimed that she would like to extend the benefits they are supposed to receive to everyone who should truly get them.

AOC added: “Like many public systems, GOP want to rip the battery out + say the whole car doesn’t work, so they can sell it for parts,” she said. “Fully funding the VA & hiring to fill the *49k vacancies* is a clear path to improving it – not auctioning off our vet care systems to for-profit companies.”

There has been a lot of development in U.S. politics in this regard, although some have expressed concern that this might be partly due to the upcoming election.

Hopefully, the trend continues even after that, as it would be a significant move forward for the nation as a whole.
